The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency reported it's alarmed concerning the superior quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is SRD to reach-out to the superior range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office devoted to service the area regularly. The assistance issue established for intervention ordeals a high influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for that Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more means to help sassa status check the servicing of all shoppers and raise usage of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
